Baby Ballet (age 3-5)
This class includes stretches along with basic dance and ballet movements, as well as fun dances to practice putting together steps. Classes also include a free dance period or a ballet story. In March, dancers begin learning a short dance incorporating many of the steps they have learned in class. On the final day of class in May, family and friends are invited to the studio for a low key Baby Ballet mini recital. [$231 per year, 30 minutes per week]
Preliminary Ballet (age 4-7)
This class is for dancers who have completed Baby Ballet, dancers new to ballet, and returning pre ballet dancers. Each class is composed of stretches and a myriad of basic ballet movements. The focus of these classes is developing a love of dance, understanding the basics of ballet, and following directions. In January, dancers begin learning their dance for the annual Spring Recital, held in May. This is the youngest group that participates in the full studio performance. As such, each class performs in one of the studio's two shows. [$231 per year, + recital and costume fee, 30 minutes per week]
Ballet 1 (age 7 - 12)
This class combines dancers who have successfully completed Preliminary Ballet, as well as dancers new to ballet. Each class includes stretches, barre work, center work and traveling steps. Goals for this level include: mastery of the steps, ability to show and identify the five positions of the feet, knowing their rights and lefts, and ability to memorize and perform a recital dance without watching the other dancers in their class. Each class performs in one of the studio's two shows. [$330 per year, + recital and costume fee, 1 hour per week]
