Dance Competitions

Competitions release their schedule and fees towards the end of June.  Please check back this summer for current information.

2026 Details

2026 Dates:  

Dance Festival for a Cause
February 7-8: Madison College, Madison WI
(Entry fee includes one ballet master class on Saturday or Sunday.  Dancers may take additional master classes at $25 each.)

AMP Dance Competition
April 10-12: Hopkins HS

DX Dance Competition
TBD out of these dates:
* April 17-19
* April 24-26
* May 15-17


Competition Fee Due dates:
* Group Dances:
2nd week of fall classes

All solos, duos and trios must sign up to compete their normal recital dance.  If there is not enough interest from their class, they will still be able to compete the solo, duo or trio.

Competition Contract

ALL competing dancers (and their parents) are required to read the studio's competition handbook and sign the competition contract at the end of the handbook.  

Group Dance Requirements

​Costs for dancers competing their recital dance:

Group Dance = $75 (includes competition fee, and one 30 min "competition only" lesson the weekend before the competition)

T-Shirt = TBD ($20 if prices don't go up)
* all dancers will wear the recital t-shirt for competition awards
Ordering in January.

Jacket (optional) = TBD ($60 if prices don't go up)

Extra Lessons (as needed or requested by dancers):
​$8/dancer for 30 min lesson
​(4+ dancers)
Will be scheduled on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday in March.  

Large Group Dance

Dancers have the opportunity to sign up for a special multi-age large group competition dance.

Cost: TBD + $75 competition fee + costume

Solos, Duos and Trios

All dancers in a solo, duo or trio must sign up for 3 lessons (45 minutes each) to learn and polish their dances.  Each lesson will be shared with another dance to best use the time, so dancers will be assigned specific weeks based on the conflicts they send in after registering.

Competition Lesson Tuition: $90 (scheduled between September and December)
Due with fall registration.

Competition Fees
Solo = $165
Duo or Trio = $95/ dancer
Due in August.

Costumes are an extra cost ($50 - $100 depending on style chosen.  Costume rental may be available for $25 if the studio has one that suits the dance).
Due with recital costume order in December.

Extra Private Lessons in the Winter or Spring:
Solos, Duos and Trios:
$30 / 30 min (divide between dancers if a duo or trio)
Through the Friday before competition.  Times are limited, so please book early to ensure a spot.
