Baby Ballet and Pre Ballet Leaders
Baby and Pre Ballet leaders are generally 9 or older, and help out with one of our Pre Ballet classes. Leaders will:
- Be good role models for their classes, both during the class and any time they are around those dancers.
- Take at least one technique class per week at their recommended level and participate in the spring recital with that class.
- Assist with at least one class per week.
- Memorize the stretches and basic patterns for the class.
- Lead stretches and or beginning of class patterns as needed.
- Memorize the recital dance and lead it during their class' recital.
- Assist with their dancers at tech rehearsal and the recital. This includes helping out in the dressing room during their class' tech rehearsal and before their performance, leading their dancers between the dressing room and backstage area, and helping out in the dressing room between their last dance and cast bows.
Photographers
Photographers are dancers who like taking pictures and are able to spend some extra time at the studio before or after their class. Our photographers:
- Come to the studio early and/or stay at the studio after class at least once a month.
- Take photos and short videos of classes in action for use on social media.
- Occasionally receive assignments for specific photos needed from our Social Media interns.
Welcome Committee
Dancers on our welcome committee act as buddies for new dancers and dancers trying out the studio. Our welcome committee dancers will:
- Greet new and trial dancers when they arrive at the studio.
- Show dancers where the bathroom and dressing room are, and our arrival routine.
- Introduce dancers to the other members of the class and make sure they are included in any conversations or activities happening before class or during water breaks.
- Be good role models for the studio.
Class Assistants
Class assistants are dancers who want to help out during their own class time. Assistants will learn a variety of skills, including:
- How to work the CD player.
- Helping dancers find ballet shoes from the borrow drawer (and keeping it organized).
- Letting dancers in to Zoom if I'm in the middle of helping another dancer.
- Taking attendance.
