FAQs
What is the time commitment once at Disney World?
* Each event (rehearsal or performance) is a maximum of 3 hours from drop off to pick up, and in many cases is less. There is one rehearsal for the parade, one parade performance, and one stage show performance.
Is it possible to turn the trip into a family vacation?
* Definitely. Since the dancers will be under the supervision of myself and the Dance the World staff during all rehearsals and performances, the rest of the family can enjoy relaxing by the pool or doing some shopping in the parks while their dancer is practicing or preparing to perform. Dancers will have plenty of time to join their families in exploring the hotel, Disney Springs, and all of the theme parks.
What does the schedule look like?
* Day One is check in and generally the parade rehearsal. This is a great time for family members to get settled into their room, explore the hotel grounds, and relax by the pool. When the dancers return from rehearsal (if applicable), consider heading over to Disney Springs for dinner and shopping, or spend a quiet night dining at one of the resorts many on site restaurants.
* Day Two, Three and Four are the stage show and parade. We'll know our exact schedule about 60 days in advance. Plan on being in the parks at least two of the three days.
* Day Five is the parade rain date and check out. Due to the rainy nature of summers in Florida, each parade group is assigned a back up day and time in case their original parade has to be cancelled due to a storm. Plan on catching a super late flight out (or consider extending your hotel by a night) so you can take full advantage of your last day in the parks and make sure that your dancer will be able to participate in the parade if we have to use the rain date option.
* Once we have the schedule, we'll set up a celebration for our studio.
* If you choose to extend your stay, you can save one of your park days for after the official package ends. This is great if you want a day off from the theme parks to relax or explore some of the many other things Disney World has to offer.
How do we get down there?
* Each family is in charge of their own transportation to and from Orlando. Options include: flying both ways, driving round trip, or flying down and renting a car back to do a mini road trip on the way home. If you are flying please get the earliest flight to Orlando and the latest flight back home possible so your dancer doesn't miss out on anything. You also have the option of extending your stay on either side of the trip to allow for more flexibility in planning.
